John
Balletto
is a licensed massage therapist in private practice in
Providence, RI. He is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage
and Bodywork, a member of the AMTA National Sports Massage Team and
the massage therapist for the Brown University Track and Field/Cross
Country teams. From June-August, 1996 he served as the Massage Therapist
for the Swiss Rowing Federation Team that claimed three (3) Gold Medals
in the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games at Lake Lanier, Georgia. He has
served in many volunteer positions with the AMTA including chair of
the Strategic Planning Committee and National Vice President. John
currently serves as President of the American Massage Therapy Association
Foundation.
Additionally, John
participates in a subspecialty rotation in Alternative and Complementary
Medicine with the Brown University School of Medicine and Rhode
Island Hospital. He is co-author of “Teaching Residents About
Complementary and Alternative medicine in the United States”
recently published in the “Journal of General Internal Medicine”
(volume 13, August 1998). John resides in Warwick, RI with his wife
Janet, rescued Greyhounds “Snow” and “Hud”,
and enjoys sculling, cycling, swimming, organic gardening, and beekeeping.
