ISST 2004 Panel Discussion takes shape:
Integrative medicine in the heart of discussions!

The Panel Discussion on Integrative Medicine will be held within the 2nd International Symposium on the Science of Touch - May 2004 (ISST2004). During this exceptional activity, leading experts will ponder over the following question:

Alan H. Adams, D.C., Ph.D, United States, is Academic Administrator in the Office of the Provost at Florida State University. His research interests include health services, clinical trials, systematic reviews, and health professions education.

Leon Chaitow, N.D., O.D., United Kingdom, is a State Registered Osteopath and Naturopath; author of approximately 65 books; editor of peer reviewed Journal of Bodywork & Movement Therapies (JBMT); and is a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader on post and undergraduate courses at the University of Westminster, in London.

Christina Doctare, M.D., Sweden, is a Medical Doctor in general medicine. She held a position at the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. She has been Chief Medical Officer in Stockholm and Assistant Surgeon General Assistant in Sweden. The past ten years, Christina Doctare worked in different international settings, such as the World Health Organization (WHO).

David M. Eisenberg, M.D., United States, is Director of the Osher Institute at Harvard Medical School and the Division for Research and Education in Complementary and Integrative Medical Therapies. He is also the Bernard Osher Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Torkel Falkenberg, B.Sc., Ph.D., Sweden, is Leader for the Karolinska Institutet - Centre for Studies of Complementary Medicine, where he also lectures in the Department of Nursing. Mr. Falkenberg is presently an advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO)

Janet R. Kahn, Ph.D., United States, is Research Assistant Professor for the Ministry of Psychiatry at the College of Medicine of the University of Vermont; Senior Partner in Integrative Consulting; Member of the Advisory Council of the National Center on Complementary and Alternative Medicine at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in United States; and Co-ordinator of the Wellness and Alternative Medicines Program at the Johnson State College.

John Triano, D.C., Ph.D., United States, is Fellow of the College of Chiropractic Scientists (Canada) and Member of the Graduate Faculty in the Biomedical Engineering Program at the University of Texas South-western Medical Center and in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington.

This panel discussion will take place Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure – Salon Castillon, and will be followed by a press conference at 4.00 p.m.

The International Symposium on the Science of Touch will be held from May 12 to 15 2004, at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure. This event will gather over 800 participants as well as world-renowned scientists, instructors, massage therapists and clinicians from various fields of health care.
